Songs that get stuck in your head

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

Yes, the Polite Dance Song video was directed by Eric of the Tim and Eric Awesome Show.

I had Polite Dance Song stuck in my head for months, until it was forcefully replaced by A-Punk.

It’s been awhile.  Time I start posting random things again.  Enjoy.

Fantastic Contraption

contraption

Fantastic Contraption is a really fun little web game.  Simple goal, just get the red block inside the goal area using a small array of tools.  As with most physics games though, the fun is in creating wacky things.  Add the ability to share your contraptions with others via a link, and we’re all set.

Here are some of my others:

Two Way, Caterpillar, Jumper, Crawler, and my favorite, Lift.

Also, Joel is great at creating walkers.

Give it a try.

Gaelic Storm

Monday, August 25th, 2008

A friend at work introduced me to Gaelic Storm since I like Flogging Molly.  They don’t have the punk undercurrent that Flogging Molly has, but so far I really like them.

My favorite so far:

True story.  He punched Russell Crowe.

DR. Horrible is the Best Thing Ever.

Seriously, watch this right now.  It gets pulled down Sunday evening.

Fourth of July and Hellboy 2

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

Go see Hellboy 2, it is much better than the first one.  I did like the first one, but mostly because I like Hellboy’s character.  Hellboy 2 is sitting at an 88% right now on Rottentomatoes.

Here’s some fireworks for you:

39 Seconds of Saturday, and Other Stuff

Wall-E is highly recommended.  The story is simpler than the Incredibles, but I’d say I enjoyed the movie just as much.  It is amazing how much character they can put into something that barely speaks.  As usual the CG was a step up.  I look forward to Pixar’s next.

Wanted was odd.  I think I can only sum it up as well executed, but ridiculous.  It’s getting hard to like action movies these days.  -Spoiler- During the final rampage the main character shoots someone in the eye with a magnum, stabs the gun into his head, and then carries the body as a shield while still shooting through it.  I just don’t feel like the target audience anymore.  Am I supposed to watch that and go “Oh OHHH.  THAT WAS SO BADASS I WISH I COULD DO THAT.”? -End Spoiler-

Killer Shrimp was very tasty.  It is a shame that the Marina Del Rey location is closing.  There are others though and if one is near you I’d recommend giving it a try.

And lastly, big band in Chinatown:

Alice

This smooth electronic remix of clips from Alice in Wonderland is really awesome.  You can get the free mp3 here.
